The Asean Library was established in 1990. Today, it is one of the best known libraries in Kuala Lumpur, one that has the most members. Over the years, the library has remained loyal to its purpose :

To provide Malaysians with a source of information from Asean countries.


Facilities


Membership is open to all members of the public and reader access is available
The library boasts a collection of over 50 000 books, audio and visual tapes,
computer software and magazines.
A warm and conducive environment for reading or research in spacious and
comfortable premises.
Friendly ,helpful staff are always at hand to assist members and visitors.


Membership privileges


A membership entitles you to borrow books, magazines, newspapers and audio cassettes.
1st year members – 2 items for 2 weeks, renewable once
Renewing members – 4 items for 3 weeks,renewable twice
A member may apply for a separate video membership two months from the date of joining the library. That entitles him to borrow one video tape for two weeks, renewable once.
You will enjoy exclusive use of the audio-visual equipment in the library and entry at weekends.

Annual membership rates are reasonable and applications are approved the same day. Application forms are
available at the library counter. For more information, please enquire from library staff.

Please note


Items placed on reference may not be borrowed.
Fines for all overdue items are 20 sen item per week.
Lost or damaged items will be charged full replacement cost.
Membership cards are not transferable except within the immediate family.
Membership cards must be produced for any loan transactions and entry
on members-only day.
Please report the loss of a membership card immediately,otherwise you
will be held responsible for any items borrowed under lost card.
A small fee will be charged for a replacement.
